About this atlas
Crescent Compass is a caregiver-directed directory for Del Norte County. Every listing shows its official source, how it was located, and the date it was last checked. Listings marked "checked online" were summarised from official websites by an automated assistant and have not yet been visited in person. Unknown is shown as unknown. Nothing is tracked about children.
What the moon shows
The crescent is a gauge, not a decoration. Its lit fraction equals the directory's mean estimate that listings are still current; the terminator sits at the Fisher–Rao coordinate θ = 2·asin(√p) of that belief, so the arc it sweeps between two states is the information distance between them. The slow breathing is the distance the belief moved over the last week; the small marks on the ring count publications and verifications in that week. The mathematics is public, in research/04_mathematics_register.md.
How visibility works
A contributor suggests; an editor verifies the claim against a source; an administrator approves publication. Each step is written to a hash-chained audit log. Crescent Compass reads only the published projection and records the provenance of every answer.

Use the correction form on any listing page, or email the editors. Corrections become claims that an editor checks before anything changes publicly.
Governance
The freshness model, decision constants and the Lumen policy are published in the repository (research/04_mathematics_register.md) and editable by administrators without code changes. Monthly review covers corrections, audit-log entries and Lumen abstentions.
